Our star the Sun
We have been learning about the Sun and how it affects night and day. Stella and Rebecca were interested to find out that the Earth spins and the Sun's light creates daytime and night-time depending on which part of the Earth it is shining on.

Our Matariki Feast
We really enjoyed reading Daniel's Matariki Feast and the discussions we had around how we celebrate special occasions with family and friends.
Paparoa Range were lucky enough to have our own Matariki feast at Blackball site and spent the afternoon making stars and poi while we waited for the food to cook.

Shantytown visit
Room 7 have been getting ready for Matariki and our school hangi. Last Friday Rooms 2 and 7 visited Shantytown and took part in their Matariki programme. Here are some photos of what we did...
